I think it's REALLY IMPORTANT to be an INCLUSIVE photographer - EVERYONE is beautiful - in every way. I am LGBTQ+IA & BIPOC friendly, and my job as an artist is to capture you in a safe and inviting environment no matter who you are! I have photographed people from all walks of life, orientations, and skin tones. Photography is an art form and I truly feel that all people deserve their own unique experience of being in front of the camera.
There are thousands of photographers, and I think the fact that you landed on my site, means it was meant to be. You found me and my work, and it made you feel something - the emotions of a wedding day or the laughs of a couple in love. It all is important and meaningful. But I am so glad you are here and thank you for the opportunity to work with you! My name is Jayme, though my closest friends call me "James". It's a nickname, since childhood that my uncle gave me, So I guess it stuck! I am 39 years old, a wife and a mama and I also work a full time job during the week. But my passion is in photography, and I hope to some day go full time with it again. Let's Chat!

Let's be real here for a minute. When I started as a photographer, I shot everything and anything just to get my name out there. But after 14 years in the industry, I realized where I truly fit in. And that's when I stopped offering HUGE WEDDINGS - don't get me wrong, they are amazing in their own way. But it just doesn't fit my vibe. I crave storytelling and being able to showcase each client (or couple)'s true personality, and I want nothing more than to capture people the way they are and how they feel - not some super posey stuff. That's why shoot with an unscripted type of posing style. One that flows naturally, to create a candid nature. I have been told that I have a skill for making people open up and not feel awkward when having their photos taken, and like they can just be themselves. My main focus is on Intimate Weddings of 200 or less guests and Boudoir, but I also shoot other Portraits. I will be your HYPE GIRL and make you belly laugh from stupid jokes. Wanting to shoot in a Destination spot? Absolutely! Chat with me about it and let's make a plan. If you like warm, moody images that are also a touch on the bright side, I might be the right fit for you.
Here is the deal - we won't do anything that's not real. My favorite aspect of photography is making people look and feel like a million bucks, and I'm not afraid to think outside the box. I want you to feel like you're spending time with your very own new BFF. Because of this, I am very involved in the session or wedding photo planning process. To create images that you will just adore and be proud of for many years to come. So let's do it!
When hiring a photographer, you definately want to know all the details. And I am here for your questions and peace of mind. If you have other questions, please reach out to me!
1. Send an inquiry: Use the Contact section below, to send me a message. I will receive the email and then respond as quickly as possible.
2. Contract & Retainer: Once you've decided to book your shoot or wedding, we will move on to the next step, which is securing your date. Contract and Retainer booking fee required to set your date on my schedule.
3. Planning & Shoot: After you have booked, I send out a questionnaire no matter what type of shoot it is. This is so that I can get an idea of what your needs or wants are. Turnaround for Portraits is 1-3 weeks and Weddings is 8-12 weeks, though I try to deliver as quickly as I can.
ABSOLUTELY! I sure do! Many of my clients are plus size, and I am a plus size woman myself. I welcome people of all shapes and walks of life to experience my empowerment sessions. I also know exactly how to pose you in ways that flatter your body type, and make you feel totally comfortable. This is one reason that I created the client closet to include all different styles and sizing.
Great Question! My style is very documentary in nature, with me using a flow posing technique to give you natural looks and expressions. My editing style is what I like to call bright moody, because I lean towards a darker contrast and deep blacks. I feel like it is very Earthy & Warm with beautiful skin tones.
Yes, I do. I'd love to hear all about it and help in the planning. Depending on the type of photography, sometimes my travel expenses are included - for example if you choose a regular session or elopement, the price for traveling is selected based on the location. If the shoot will require a hotel stay or flight, those are certainly factors. But reach out!
For Regular Sessions that are around 2 hours of shooting time, expect to see at least 20-30+ photos inside your gallery. But if there is a lot of variation of shots, there will likely be more. In a Boudoir gallery, I always guarantee at least 10-15 unique poses to choose from. And with Elopements and Weddings, I do not say a set number since it widely varies. But expect around 300-800+ photos.
To start with, I advise people to look at my website as a whole and make absolutely sure that my style matches what you're looking for. When you are choosing a photographer, you need to make sure you love the colors and shooting style, because that is what you will receive. If you want to move on to the booking process, all you have to do is send me an inquiry and that will get the ball rolling.
YASS! Let's go! To begin the booking process, we will chat about the type of shoot, what you'd like and then I'll send a proposal from my CRM for your review that includes the details, contract, and invoice. All you have to do to complete this by signing the contract agreement and paying a retainer booking fee. From there, we will begin planning the session or wedding.
I offer three packages that are most popular for weddings, and they depend on what type of celebration you are having. Travel fee applies to any wedding outside the state of Iowa - with travel plus lodging at a hotel. The booking fee for all packages is $1000 + travel fees at the time of signing your contract via the proposal in my CRM. Also included is extensive planning and an online gallery.
When you choose me for your best day ever, you're getting someone who is going to hype you up and be your biggest cheerleader helping you have the best time. Feel free to reach out in the contact form if you have questions. View the full pricing here: https://storyteller-collective.com/wedding-pricing

As a photographer, I'm always looking for "my people" - the ones who put off the same kinds of vibe. Those who are chill, go with the flow, and love art and value photography. I realize I am not the right fit 100% of the time, but if you love love and understand that I offer an experience rather than a cheap price, I know we will connect. With over 14 years in the photography industry, I know how to give you the imagery you're craving. With that said, if you are getting sticker shock, let's talk about it, and maybe set up a payment plan for you to make it more affordable.
"She was super flexible when we had to change our plans to an elopement and went above and beyond to make our day still special even with all the stress surrounding planning a wedding during covid-19! She was easy to work with and did a wonderful job!"
"Did a fantastic job of capturing our intimate wedding ceremony! She is incredibly kind and made us and our guests feel very comfortable as she was snapping away our most precious moments. We received a sneak peek of the photos quickly and the entire edited collection much earlier than expected. We highly recommend hiring Jayme if you want someone very skilled behind the camera to capture your special moments!"
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Do it! You will not regret this entire experience. Jayme calmed my nerves when I said I was nervous for the boudoir shoot and explained everything in great detail. She made the shoot comfortable and fun, slowly starting off interested in talking with me to make me feel special. The session itself was so easy, I didn't even feel like I was at a photo shoot. I'd do it all over again with how it helped my self confidence.
"I'm in tearssssss!!! I love them so much!!! I can't believe this is us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. These are absolutely stunning!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am speechless❤️ Jayme Peters did a wonderful job!!"
"I cannot tell anyone often enough, Jayme did an AMAZING job with our wedding photos. She arrived on time and was completely professional. Jayme was INCREDIBLE. The girls and I loved her instantly! We felt comfortable as she guided us and set us up in poses that complimented us and our surroundings. Through the ceremony and reception Jayme even got some shots of my husband smiling in some photos, which almost NEVER happens. She made me feel so confident and it truly shows in the photos."
